Are you looking for healthy and salty snacks to help you get through the day?

If you are anything like me, trying to stay fit with a busy lifestyle can be tough. Even when you are trying to relax and watch a movie, sometimes your movie snacks are calling your name.

This is why it is important to have some healthy options for snacks so you don’t fall into the trap of grabbing what may be quick and convenient, but high in calories.

Here are 7 snacks you can keep on hand that will help you feed your cravings, keep you healthy and at the same time tame your hunger. And the best part is they are all less than 200 calories!

Check them out:

1. Blackberries and Pistachios Are a Good Mix of Healthy and Salty Snacks

If you are looking for something sweet and filling at the same time, this treat is a good option.

The blackberries are full of antioxidants and the pistachios will give you a full feeling. The best thing is this treat of a salty and sweet mixture is less than 200 calories, coming in at 159 calories with 7.6 grams of fat and 7.6 grams of fiber. The fiber will help you feel full while keeping your caloric intake intact.

2. Green Berry Smoothie

I love a good smoothie. But, as you know, some smoothies can be more fattening than others.

The key is in the ingredients. Here is a great smoothie that will help you to incorporate your fruits and vegetables at 195 calories.

Blend an 8 oz serving of banana, apple, strawberries and kale. It’s tasty and nutritious, too!

3. Apple and Honey

If you want to grab something that is quick and easy to take with you to satisfy your sweet tooth, grab an apple.

Cut it up into slices and add a teaspoon of honey to the apple slices. This delicious, sweet treat is only 101 calories.

4. Warm Baked Pear

I’m a dessert girl and I love a good apple or sweet potato pie.

Here is a way to get a treat with a similar taste, but without the high amount of sugar and calories.

When you are craving a pie, try this instead. Slice up a pear and add a little bit of yogurt on top. The pear contains cancer-fighting properties and the yogurt has probiotics that can help prevent gum disease.

5. Organic Granola Bar Snacks Can Provide a Mix of Healthy and Salty

We all know that oatmeal is healthy for you, but sometimes it can be hard to find a good tasting granola bar with oatmeal in it.

The Cascadian Farm Organic Oats and Chocolate Granola Bar is one of my favorites. Not only is it organic, but it is non-GMO and has no artificial flavors or preservatives. It fills you up because of the oatmeal which increases your fiber intake and you satisfy your chocolate cravings with the chocolate chunks within the bar. It’s only 150 calories to boot.

6. Carrot “Fries”

I love a potato. They are filling and great comfort food. But, if you are looking for an alternative as a snack that gives you the same feeling and some of the taste of fries, here is an alternative. Try cutting carrots into small pieces and bake them in the oven. These alternative fries only add up to 53 calories and 2.5 grams of fiber. You get some comfort, less calories and your  fiber intake all in one serving.

7. Trail Mix Are Great Healthy and Salty Snacks

If you are limited on time to prepare a snack, keep trail mix handy. Whole Foods has a great trail mix. It is called Whole Foods 365 Everyday Value Cranberry & Nut Trail Mix. With a combination of nuts and some chocolate, this satisfies all of your cravings. It is a blended mix of almonds, cashews and cranberries. You also get protein, magnesium and antioxidants. The best part is there is no sugar added in this mix.

Fewer calories doesn’t have to mean you sacrifice the taste and quality of your snacks. You have lots of options that can keep you satisfied and healthy at the same time. Snack on!
