9 Products to Make Life With Migraine a Little Easier

Migraines may be devastating if not addressed. Until you can visit a doctor, we’ve given nine options that may help with headache pain.

Peppermint Essential Oil With Roller Ball Applicator

You could be thinking, “I’ll scream if someone else suggests essential oils as a treatment for my migraine.”

This hypothesis is motivated by distraction. While essential oils won’t stop the pain of a migraine, they may help us divert our attention.

Pain hyper fixation is mitigated by applying peppermint oil (which can be purchased in pre-diluted roll-on applicators) on the temples and neck. The aroma soothes both the stomach and the spirit.

It’s one of the first treatments for blows to the head. If you’re sensitive to smells, you should stay away.

Comfortable Ice Pack Or Wearable Packs

During an attack, a comfy ice pack is priceless. When movement is important, gel-filled ones may be worn on the head. These ice-pack caps are great for freezing discomfort.

Packs with weighted ceramic balls and interesting fabric patterns are also available. Have more than one to cycle your favorites in and out of the freezer. The cold lasts for hours without being too cold or too warm.

Heating Pad

On the other hand, we can’t picture surviving an onslaught without loads of heat. An attack causes severe neck discomfort; thus, a heating pad with a lava setting is ideal for some.

Consider a microwaveable neck wrap if you need to move during an attack. Unscented and scented versions are available.

Because many of them are scented with lavender, which is recommended only in limited amounts, have an unscented one on hand as well.

Comfortable Bedding

Sleeping quarters need to be a haven of peace and comfort. In order to alleviate our pain, many of us turn to them. A soft bed, cozy blankets, and enough illumination are all must-haves.

Pillows that you can sink into are also crucial. Favorite pillow? To each his own.

You may experiment with different hardness levels by taking out pillow fill and storing it in a separate bag.

Weighted Blanket

A weighted blanket may help calm nerves caused by physical discomfort. Because of the pain, you may find yourself unable to sit still. A weighted blanket might help you relax and feel better.

Heated Blanket

Use a heated blanket year-round, not just when the heat is on, if your home is always cold.

Green Light Therapy Lamp

Have you seen the migraine-treating green light therapy lamp? Some believed it was a hoax until the studies on why the green light is more bearable came out.

Lowering nausea and light sensitivity enables you to work during less uncomfortable attacks. This small bulb alleviates the issues rapidly. It calms you before bed as a bedside light.

Migraine Glasses

Migraine glasses help with light sensitivity. The glasses’ lenses filter out blue light from electronics that many of us can’t stand. These glasses come in several colors and sizes.

Some lenses are pink or orange, while others are mainly clear with a trace of brown. Some are prescription-only.

These balance the lengthy computer days and Zoom meetings. When put on the face, it is like your brain is nearly sighing with relief. My eyes!

Ginger

A few years ago, a study suggested that ginger might be as effective as sumatriptan in treating migraines. These days, most attacks include ginger. Tea, tablets, candies, and crystallized ginger all help to lessen or stop attacks.

Before using a ginger supplement together with any medication, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
