Jamie Foxx Breaks Silence: “My Daughter Saved My Life”

Fans are showing tears of joy that Jamie Foxx, via his Instagram, has just first publicly addressed his hospitalization and health scare that had fans wondering about his health after nearly months of recovery and rehab. He’s even back in front of cameras for the first time since his medical crisis according to TMZ.

Multiple sources report that Jamie shot a brand new BetMGM commercial Wednesday in Las Vegas at the Aria Resort and Casino, and reportedly he was seen in amazing shape — showing no signs of physical ailment.

In the more than 3-minute Instagram video posted Friday night (you can watch it below), Jamie Foxx did not reveal the nature of the complication but addressed the severity of his condition when he was in the hospital.

“I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back. I went through something that I thought I would never, ever go through,” Foxx said, thanking fans for their prayers and messages.

He explained why it took so long for fans to hear from him. “I just didn’t want you to see me like that. I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, a television show. I just didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”

Foxx debunked online rumors that the medical emergency had left him paralyzed or blind.

“But I did go to hell and back,” he added. “My road to recovery had some potholes as well but I’m coming back, and I’m able to work.”

The God Is a Bullet actor went on to share his appreciation for his sister and daughter and their support throughout his recovery, saying they “saved my life.”

“To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video,” he added. “I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way, and y’all know they kept it airtight, they didn’t let nothing out, they protected me, and that’s what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these.”

Foxx then choked up as he told fans, ‘I just want to say that I love everybody, and I love all the love that I got.” He ended the video message with “I am on my way back.”

The actor had not been seen since before his April 11 hospitalization, until he was spotted in Chicago in May going to a physical rehabilitation facility and recently waving to fans from a boat.

Foxx teared up even more as he became visibly emotional about the journey.

“I know they talk about people crying on videos,” he said. “You can do a take two — I’m not gonna do a take two. It is what it is. If you see me out from now on and every once in a while I just burst into tears, it’s because it’s been tough, man. I’ve been sick, man. But now I’ve got my legs under me, so you’re gonna see me out.”

The Academy Award winner then offered a bit of self-deprecating humor — and plugged a professional project.

“But like I said, I just want you to remember me for the jokes that I crack, the movies that I make — some of them good, some of them ain’t — I think I’ve got a good one out,” he joked, “and songs that I sing.”

In his post, Foxx captioned, “Thank u a billion to everybody… been a long road but all the prayers great people and God got me through…”

We love you Jamie! Good to see you back!
