For many living in Los Angeles, the biggest barrier to healthcare isn’t just distance—it’s a combination of high costs, lack of insurance, and the difficulty of navigating a complex system. To bridge this gap, Cedars-Sinai is bringing awareness to its 49 community initiatives that bring health resources and preventative care directly into LA’s neighborhoods. By partnering with over 200 community organizations, Cedars-Sinai’s “Here. For L.A” effort highlights how the institution is meeting residents where they already are: in schools, libraries, places of worship, and neighborhood festivals.
Cedars-Sinai has pop-up clinics and fitness programs designed to help you manage your family’s health without the stress of a traditional doctor’s visit.
Most chronic conditions, such as hypertension and diabetes, are “silent” in their early stages. Through Cedars-Sinai’s Community Health Improvement Program, people can receive free screenings for blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol. Catching these numbers early is the most effective way to prevent long-term complications. These screenings are low-barrier—no insurance is required—and are held in familiar, high-traffic spaces like the Michelle and Barack Obama Sports Complex and Fairfax Branch Library.
Cedars-Sinai offers several specialized programs to support your well-being and professional growth:
Building a healthier community happens one neighborhood at a time. Whether you are looking for social support services to address food insecurity or seeking an internship to start your medical career, these resources are available to all residents regardless of background.
