Rick Ross Loses Over 100lbs

William Leonard Roberts II, better known by his stage name Rick Ross or “Ricky Rozay”, has topped the music charts with his own songs and has had a number of chart-topping hits from his Maybach Music Group label. The 38-year-old corrections-officer-turned-rapper has always been a big guy, and he’s never been too ashamed to show off his huge belly. Rozay didn’t leave the body flaunting to just Trey Songz and Usher. He’s been right with them, ripping his shirt off at shows to flaunt his plus-sized figure, making himself an honorary member of the “Free the Nipple” movement.

But Ross said it was health concerns that started him on his weight loss journey of 100 pounds lost thus far:

“Two years ago I suffered two seizures. And I woke up from that, wow, I really need to, you know, re-evaluate what I’m doing. I wanted to cut back on some of the drinking I was doing, sleep more, watch what I ate.”

In a recent TV interview, Ross went into detail about what helped him lose. For breakfast, Ross says he’ll eat things like three eggs and turkey bacon – with Rick saying he’s gotten rid of soda-drinking and habits like eating at 2 a.m. in order to lose weight.

Ross’ “shout out to all the pear” statement went viral, after Rick admitted he began eating fruits and things he didn’t normally eat. CrossFit workout programs helped Ross succeed because he said he was building muscle and using the gym time for intense workouts, instead of merely a 30-minute treadmill stint, for example.

A year ago, Rick Ross collaborated with Reebok and endorsed the company, which advocates fitness, circuit training and health. It seemed a little weird that Ross was the face behind the fitness brand at the time, but the deal really paid off. Now people are dubbing his routine as “Ross-Fit.”

He’s not stopping there, though. According to an interview with Tim Westwood in London, Ross made a huge change in his eating habits as well.

“You know, the most I used to do for exercise was stand up to count the money, you know what I’m saying? But now, they, you know, they give me fruit to eat. I forgot what fruit, you know, tasted like. I eat pears now and s–t like that.”

It’s safe to say that if Rick takes off his shirt at the next show, fans will be surprised to see what’s underneath!
