TrumpRx, the government website designed to offer lower-cost options for select brand-name prescriptions, officially launched on Feb. 5, according to President Donald Trump. The direct-to-consumer service is part of the administration’s efforts to reduce prescription costs in the United States.
Rather than selling medications directly, TrumpRx connects patients with manufacturer-sponsored discounts or coupons redeemable at participating pharmacies. The platform is intended to help patients facing high out-of-pocket costs for medications not fully covered by their insurance plans.
U.S. prescription drug prices are two to three times higher on average than those in other developed nations, and up to 10 times higher in some countries, according to a RAND Corporation report.
According to the White House.gov, TrumpRx significantly reduces the prices of several high-cost medications, including GLP-1 therapies and fertility treatments.

“You’re going to save a fortune, and this is also so good for overall healthcare,” Trump said while unveiling the website, CNBC reported.

otiated with the Trump administration to participate and offer certain prescription drugs at a discount to Medicaid patients.
At launch, the website only features medications from the first five participating manufacturers: AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly, Serono, Novo Nordisk, and Pfizer. Additional drugmakers are expected to be added in the coming months.
