No More Shiny Forehead! Best Moisturizers for Oily Skin

Table of Contents

Summer is coming! People are excited for their short shorts, colorful outfits and fun vacations – except for people who have oily/combination skin.

There’s nothing worse than someone pointing out they can basically see their reflection on your forehead, and you grab the nearest napkin and try to dull down that shine. It’s even worse for my people who wear makeup in the summer. You basically look like you’re melting.

As someone who has combination skin, my skin is very oily in the summer in my t-zone and I have dry cheeks and patches in the winter, I get that summer can be quite the task. To me, getting hydrated and moisturized in the winter is much easier than cooling down and minimizing oil production in the summer.

So, for all of my oily skin or combination skin folks, let me give you some of the best moisturizers for oily skin that have changed the game for me and the people I know.

Tatcha The Water Cream – $70

Best Moisturizers for Oily Skin

Yes, I am aware of the price, but it is completely worth it! In fact, it is one of the best moisturizers for oily skin.

Tatcha has exceptional ingredients and is a great line overall. I wanted to start off with a heavy hitter. It has a very thin cream-like consistency that will leave you hydrated enough and is not heavy. This can be found online, or in stores at Sephora.

Versed Dew Point Moisturizing Gel-Cream – $14.99

Versed is one of the higher-end drugstore brands in Target that offers a lot of great items.

My personal favorite from this line is their gel cream. It has a very thin consistency that is very light and seeps into the skin easily. The price point is amazing and it is found at a place we all love, our local Target!

Formula 10.0.6 Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil-Free Moisturizer – $7.49

Best Moisturizers for Oily Skin

This is great for my people who have mega shine in the summer. This product has a cream-like consistency that offers a mattifying effect, which is great for people who want to really minimize their shine.

A product like this would be excellent before applying your makeup, or could even act as your primer. I found this moisturizer at Ulta.

Clinique Moisture Surge – $16 – $82

Clinique is an old-school brand that many people still love. This gel-like consistency moisturizer is great for people who want hydrated, moisturized skin without the weight of a more cream-like moisturizer.

It comes in a small, travel size at .5 oz and goes to 125 ml for people who really enjoy the product. This product is at Ulta.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel – $19.99

Best Moisturizers for Oily Skin

This is one of the best products from the Neutrogena Hydro Boost line. Another gel-like consistency product that offers hyaluronic acid, an ingredient that offers hydration to the skin (because there is a difference between hydration and moisturizing).

Some people with oily skin actually have dehydrated skin, so this would do wonders for people who have dehydrated, oily skin. This can be found in just about any drugstore and Ulta.

Coconut Water Cream – $36

This is another thin, creamy-like consistency product that offers hydration to the skin without the weight that other hydrating products might have.

The Coconut Water Cream is loved by a YouTuber named Hyram who lives in Hawaii, where it is very humid and can be very hot. He loves this cream and says that it’s a lifesaver. This product can be found at Ulta and Sephora.

e.l.f. Happy Hydration Cream – $12

I just started using this cream myself as we are transitioning into the warmer months, and it’s been working great so far! It does have a creamier consistency, but it is not very thick and is excellent to use during the daytime, as it seeps right into your skin and leaves it feeling plump and hydrated.

This product can be found at Target or other drugstores that sell e.l.f facial products.

If you are looking for the best moisturizers for oily skin, then give these moisturizers a try this summer. Hopefully, you find one that works for you, and minimizes the shine!
