A:  Cystic acne is the most severe form of acne, characterized by large and inflamed breakouts. Cystic acne is often quite painful and can cause significant damage.

Natural treatment options function internally and externally to safely heal acne and prevent further breakouts. The objective of these remedies is to reduce inflammation and naturally treat bacterial formations in the skin.

A few natural remedies for cystic acne include:

  • Turmeric: The anti-bacterial properties of this spice can help reduce inflammation. Mix 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric in a glass of warm water and drink daily on an empty stomach.
  • Apple cider vinegar: Applying an apple cider vinegar to your face can help balance the skin’s pH level. Mix 2 tablespoons of water with 1 tablespoon of ACV and refrigerate. Apply the mixture after washing your face each day.

  • Honey: Raw honey helps kill acne-causing bacteria on the skin. Apply a thin layer of honey to a clean face and leave the mask on for 15 minutes. Rinse well.

Reducing your intake of dairy products may also be helpful.
