“She gets it from her mama” is a common phrase that shows how a mother’s beauty has been passed down the next generation. Could it be that “black don’t crack” or maybe a next-level skincare routine.
Either way, it doesn’t mean that sometimes the resemblance isn’t so striking that it makes you stop and wonder if there is some sort of magic in their DNA. Such is often the case with celebrity offspring because we get to see their lives play out in the public eye. Like when Zoë Kravitz and mom Lisa Bonet took the red carpet together at the 2020 Golden Globes, we had to do a double-take.
And judging by some Hollywood families, a number of famous moms definitely have tenacious genes. So take a look at these celeb moms and daughters that would have you saying it too!

Yung Miami, the rapper – whose birth name is Caresha Romeka Brownlee – posted a series of Instagram photos showing her outfit and enjoying the game with her mother, Keenya Young. For the occasion, she wore a white corset-style maxi shirt with a red Prada top layered underneath. Yung Miami accessorized her outfit with a bedazzled red lip-shaped clutch, a pair of white and red Prada heel pumps and white square sunglasses. She also sported a sleek bob, a choker chain necklace and a bubblegum pink manicure, which tied her whole look together.
Yung Miami’s mother, Keenya Young, also took to Instagram to share her own outfit pictures. Young looked stunning in her all-white outfit, which consisted of a form-fitting short-sleeve dress with matching pumps and a white Chanel bag. Young paired her outfit with a chain matching her daughter’s, a white manicure and a slicked back ponytail.
This was a beautiful mother-daughter moment to see, especially since Caresha’s mom was recently released from prison in March 2021 after serving 5 years in prison.
As reported from the Jasmine Brand, Yung Miami’s mom, “was charged with first-degree murder for the death of Emily Robinson. Robinson was killed when Young was trying to flee the scene after an armed robbery”.
Caresha has been awaiting Young’s release since she was sentenced to prison in 2017. Prior to her mom getting out, Caresha bought her mom a truck. Then, just hours before her mother was freed, she took to Twitter to share her thoughts and express her gratitude for the success she’s been able to see in her mother’s absence.
“My mom get out tomorrow. I’m so anxious!” she wrote. “My mom left me with 2 kids plus Jai I was 22 going on 23. I didn’t know what to do. I had to figure it out. Look at me now. God is so good.” Following Young’s release, the City Girls star later tweeted, “My mama look so pretty in her truck. I’m so happy for her.”
