Whether you want to give life to dull skin or help face old acne scars, the following homemade face masks are especially perfect for the summer. The best part? You don’t have to leave the comfort of your home and can make them in your blender!

Apricots & Cream Mask

Good for: Exfoliating

Ingredients

1 cup dried apricots

1 cup water

2 tablespoons skim milk powder

2 tablespoons oats, uncooked

Directions

Soak dried apricots in warm water until soft.

Place apricots with soaking water and the rest of the ingredients into a blender and secure lid.

Turn machine on and slowly increase speed from low to high.

Blend for 30 seconds.

Apply to face and let mask dry, about 15-20 minutes.

Wipe off with a damp wash cloth.

Avocado & Honey Mask

Good for: Restoring moisture to dry, flaky skin

Ingredients

½ ripe avocado

½ teaspoon coconut oil

2 tablespoons honey

Directions

Mash avocados in a blender until creamy and smooth

Add honey and coconut oil.

Apply a thick layer all over your face, ensuring to avoid eyes and mouth.

Let sit for about 15 minutes or until dry.

Wash off with warm water and pat dry with a towel.

 

Lemon & Strawberry Pack

Good for: Brightening dull, lifeless skin

Ingredients

Mashed strawberries

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 tablespoon yogurt

1 tablespoon honey

Directions

Combine ingredients in a blender and mix until thick. You want to create a paste, not a smoothie like texture.

Apply evenly over the face.

Let the mixture sit on the skin until dry (about 15-20 minutes)

Rinse with cold water.

Pat skin dry with a towel.

Oatmeal Mask

Good for: Soothing skin irritated by  skin eczema, breakouts, shaving, etc.

Ingredients

1/3 cup instant oatmeal

½ cup hot water

1-2 tablespoons yogurt

1 tablespoon honey

Directions

Mix oatmeal in hot water until it puffs up and turns soft.

Combine honey and yogurt in a blender.

Blend until the mixture becomes a spreadable paste.

Apply evenly over your face or eczema patches.

Leave on for about 15-20 minutes.

Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

 

Apple Cider Vinegar Acne Face Mask

Good for: Combating acne and fading scars

Ingredients

1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

2 teaspoons cooled green tea

1 teaspoon honey

5 teaspoons sugar

 

Directions

Blend all ingredients until it creates a thick texture.

Spread the mask over your entire face using a cotton pad.

Massage mixture for a few minutes to remove dead skin cells and improve circulation.

Leave on for about 10 minutes.

Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a wash cloth.

Use once or twice weekly for problematic skin.

*Tip: For a thicker concoction, add more sugar. The sugar acts as a natural exfoliant, breaking up scar tissue and unclogging pores.
