Why Do My Eyelashes Hurt

Do your eyelashes ever hurt to the touch, especially at the root? This is probably an unusual question, but hey,there’s no such thing as a silly or embarrassing question, right? This has happened to me on several occasions and each time, it is quite uncomfortable to say the least. I know I can’t be the only one who’s experienced this, so why do our lashes hurt from time to time?

Turns out, there could be a couple reasons why. The first could be that you’re not removing all your eye makeup before going to bed, including that waterproof mascara that we all love so much.

Another reason? It could be blepharitis, but in addition to eyelash pain, you’d experience some swelling, flakes around the eye, and burning, gritty eyes. If left untreated (see your doctor or optometrist right away), blepharitis can lead to pink eye or a sty. Not fun!

It can be easy to forget that lash hairs are just like the hair on our heads in the sense that you have to properly care for them if you want them to look and feel amazing.
